Delivery Vans That Run on USED Vegetable Oil!

I had to see it for myself. I heard from my friend that his delivery vans run on used vegetable oil! He doesn't even convert it to biodiesel. So, Sylvia and I made a trip to his commissary to check it out.

Sebanti Inc.'s delivery trucks run on the very same oil they use to cook their products (siopao, squid balls, siomai and others) from their dimsum stalls, Odd Balls. He got the idea from a cousin in the States whose old Mercedes Benz… Continue

latest stats on arctic ice cover

Arctic ice getting thinner, fading fast

Ice in the ocean surrounding the Arctic is thinner than it's been in 30 years, and there's much less of it, say scientists who are monitoring the effects of climate change.

RP HAS 2nd DIRTIEST SEAS .. and it's mostly plastic bags

Last September 2008, the US-based Ocean Conservancy led an International Coastal Cleanup. There were nearly 400,000 volunteers in 6,485 sites in 104 countries that collected trash from shorelines, ocean surfaces, and underwater. And, not only did they collect the trash, they counted it!

Surprise, surprise -- the Philippines ranked SECOND for most trash recovered from its oceans! Number one was the US, and number three was Costa Rica.

They got 1,355,236 items of trash from… Continue
